About Cosmetics Batch
Cosmetics Batch is an independent informational tool for finding and checking the batch codes printed on cosmetics and fragrances. A batch code result may identify when a product was made; it is not the same as a printed expiration or minimum-durability date.
The checker sits alongside practical brand guides that show where to look on a bottle, tube, jar or outer box, how to distinguish a short lot marking from the longer EAN/barcode, and what to try when a code is incomplete or unresolved. The brands named on this site do not author or operate Cosmetics Batch.
Our aim is to help a person read the exact pack in front of them. We do not replace the product label, storage instructions or advice from the manufacturer or retailer.
How information is reviewed
Brand pages combine pack-location observations with reviewed editorial guidance and, where available, official manufacturer, regulatory or product-identification sources. Source notes are shown on reviewed guides so readers can distinguish a brand-specific fact from general help for inspecting cosmetic packaging.
Decoder coverage varies by brand, product and production period. A brand appearing in the picker does not mean every historic or current code format can be dated. If the available evidence does not support a result, the checker should return an unresolved response and guide the user to recheck the characters, the barcode distinction and the exact packaging instead of inventing a date.
How to interpret a result
A manufacture or production date describes when the item was made. It must not be presented as the product's expiration date. For an unopened product, first follow any printed minimum-durability or expiration date and the storage directions on that exact pack.
After opening, look for the open-jar PAO symbol, such as 6M, 12M or 24M. It states the period in months for use after opening when the product is stored and used as directed. Because formulas, packaging and markets differ, Cosmetics Batch does not assign one universal unopened lifetime or PAO period to an entire brand or product category.
If the printed date, PAO symbol and checker output appear to conflict, use the information on the exact pack and ask the manufacturer or an authorized seller to clarify it. A changed smell, texture, colour or container is also a reason to stop using the product and seek qualified advice rather than relying on a calculated date.
Corrections and transparency
Packaging and coding practices can change. We review code-photo submissions and source updates to improve location examples and flag unsupported formats. If you find an outdated statement or a source that no longer supports it, please use the Contact page so the claim can be checked and corrected.
Your privacy
Decoding happens on our server and no account is required. To measure decoder quality, we may retain the submitted code, selected brand, result, language, time and a country-level code; IP addresses are not included in that quality dataset. The Privacy Policy explains the dataset, optional photo submissions, analytics and advertising choices in full.
