Where to search by CHANEL product category
Begin with the product category. Fragrance bottles offer the glass base, underside label and carton flaps; makeup adds lipstick cases, mascara tubes, compacts and foundation bases; skincare adds jars, pumps, tubes and their boxes. N°5, Coco Mademoiselle, Bleu de CHANEL, Allure, Les Beiges and treatment products should not be forced into one location rule.
Use side light, take an uncropped photograph and record the product name, concentration or shade, size and market. Vintage, tester, travel-retail and refill presentations may use different labels from a current retail pack.

Do not enter the EAN, shade or product reference
Separate identifiers by purpose. An EAN barcode identifies a retail item type, while a product or shade reference identifies a commercial variant. The production-lot mark is a different field and is the only value relevant to the checker. The three gallery photographs are useful negative examples: they clearly show barcodes and product references, not a verified CHANEL lot code.
Do not infer a batch format from those reference numbers. Search the complete bottle or component and carton for another short stamped, printed or etched mark.

Follow the printed date, PAO and storage directions
CHANEL’s official fragrance guidance recommends protecting products from direct sunlight and keeping them in their original packaging. Storage history matters, but the exact package remains the source for expiry, minimum durability and PAO.
PAO counts from first opening. A printed calendar date applies to the pack carrying it. Because fragrance, makeup and skincare have different formulas and use patterns, no single CHANEL shelf-life or PAO duration is assigned.

If the CHANEL checker returns no result
When the checker returns no result, confirm that the entry is not the barcode, product reference, shade or price sticker. Recheck O/0, I/1 and B/8, rotate reflective glass under side light and compare the component with its carton. An older or unsupported pattern may remain undated.
Send one full-package image and close views of the suspected mark, barcode panel and lifecycle symbols. Include the product family, size, market and approximate purchase period.

Prepare an exact-package support record
For a package question, preserve the carton, receipt and seller information. Record whether the item is a tester, refill, gift set, travel-retail product or older release before comparing it with an official current image.
A useful CHANEL support request includes the exact product, concentration or shade, size, market and clear photographs of the front, back, base, carton flaps, barcode, suspected lot field, printed date and PAO. This keeps the review tied to the item in hand.

Why does the CHANEL example not show a manufacture date?
CHANEL does not publish the observed four-digit date wheel as an official public cipher, and the pattern repeats across years. CosmeticsBatch therefore uses the page for code identification and withholds an ambiguous manufacture date.
Which numbers in the CHANEL gallery should I avoid entering?
The photographed cartons show long EAN barcodes and product references such as 107.190, 107.917 and 127.460. Those identify retail products; they are not presented as batch codes. Look for a separate short lot mark on the exact bottle, component or carton.
Which CHANEL package symbols control product life after purchase?
Use any printed EXP or minimum-durability date on the exact pack and follow its open-jar PAO after opening. A production-period lookup does not replace either instruction.
